Velly Bosega

Founder & Managing Director, AdClick Africa Group

Velly Bosega is the Founder and CEO of AdClick Africa Media Group – one of the fastest growing independent media companies in Africa. He is also the publisher of SME South Africa, an online publication which provides strategic content for SMEs to unlock their growth and productivity. Bosega has spent 14 years in the marketing and advertising industry. He also sits on the Mobile Marketing Association of South Africa (MMASA) and The Association of Christian (ACM) Media Board.

Tafadzwa Madavo

COO of Riversands Incubation Hub

Tafadzwa Madavo is the COO of Riversands Incubation Hub, an ambitious initiative that aims to boost entrepreneurial activity. At Riversands his primary role has been to develop a growth framework and roll out support services for the 150 small businesses on campus. An experienced project management professional, Madavo boasts broad industry experience including banking, finance, business incubation and international NGOs.

He holds a Bachelor of Social Science in Economics and Community Resource Management and a Masters in Science in Strategic Management. His masters dissertation focused on SMME value chain financing.

Ran Neu-Ner

Co-founder and CEO of The Creative Counsel

Disruption and innovation are part of his DNA. Meet Ran Neu-Ner, a serial entrepreneur and astute businessman who together with his business partner Gil Oved founded The Creative Counsel (TCC), South Africa’s largest advertising agency. In 2015, TCC was bought by global leader the Publicis Groupe, in the biggest African advertising deal reported to have been worth R1, 5 billion.

Through his experiences of building, buying and selling businesses, Neu-Ner believes the narrative and mindset for entrepreneurs has to change. He believes entrepreneurs from the onset have to enlarge their vision for their businesses and become regional and global in their approach. An investor and mentor, Neu-Ner is passionate about entrepreneurship, leadership and mentorship. Last year he was the 2016 Top Performing Business Leader at the National Business Awards as well as the 2016 EY Southern Africa World Entrepreneur Award™.

Liezl van Staden

Regional Business Development Manager, Finfind

Liezl van Staden is an expert in technology solutions and sales channel development with experience gained working for multinationals such as Microsoft and Dimension Data. In 2016, van Staden joined Finfind and now combines her technology and systems expertise with a passion for the digital transformation of the vital SME sector. Van Staden represents the Finfind Access to Finance solution at conferences, industry forums, SME exhibitions and incubators across South Africa. She is committed to educating entrepreneurs on how to secure the right finance for their needs. Van Staden is also involved with building partnerships with corporates to assist with the SME supply chain financing solutions.

Zizipho Nyanga

Chief Executive Officer, Masisizane

Nyanga, a qualified CA(SA), started her career with Ernst & Young in 2004 as a trainee accountant focusing on the retail and pharmaceutical industries.  Ernst & Young’s global footprint afforded her the opportunity to audit US-based companies such as Data Domain and Xenoport Inc while seconded to California office.  In 2007 she joined Kagiso Media as a financial manager. In 2008 she started an investment company, Motlalepula Investments together with three other shareholders.

She returned to Ernst & Young in 2009 working in both the audit and advisory departments. In 2012, Nyanga joined the IDC as a dealmaker and gained experienced in the pre-investment and healthcare businesses, responsible for financial modeling and deal structuring of hospitals, medical device and pharmaceutical manufacturing transactions. Nyanga joined Masisizane in September 2014 as Head of Post Investment Monitoring and Business Support and was promoted to Chief Executive Officer of the Fund in October 2016.

Nirmala Reddy

Senior Manager: Enterprise Development, Nedbank  

Nirmala Reddy graduated with an MBA in 2006. Included in her repertoire of study is community development and journalism. She joined Nedbank in 2004 within the transactional banking team. Her exposure and experience across community development and the business arena had been valuable in the enterprise development space translating into various enterprise development interventions. Pillay is currently reading her PhD studies.

Linda Dotwana

Portfolio Manager, TUHF

Linda Dotwana is a portfolio manager at TUHF, a property financier that provides funding to entrepreneurs for the purchase, conversion or refurbishment of inner city buildings. Dotwana holds a BCom degree in Financial Accounting from the University of Transkei and has previous work experience as a loan consultant at ABSA and the National Housing Finance Corporation (NHFC).

Nadia Rawjee

Director, Uzenzele Holdings

Nadia Rawjee is the co-founder of Uzenzele Holdings, a firm that facilitates a range of non-traditional, developmental grant and loan funding applications to expedite the progress and growth of established businesses and ultimately our economy. Uzenzele’s progress is in line with the growth of the companies they represent so they achieve growth and sustainability facilitating economic inclusion across the country. Rawjee believes that developing business owners through knowledge sharing will encourage the economic growth – assisting business owners to identify the funds applicable to their business and its growth plans, ensuring time saving and higher success rates.

Rawjee has experience in industries ranging from FMCG to manufacturing and mining. Her skills lie in business analysis, business modelling and accessing developmental funding. She hold BCom in Finance and a BCom in Economics & Econometrics, both from the University of Johannesburg.

Aisha Pandor

Co-Founder SweepSouth

Aisha Pandor is the co-founder of SweepSouth, South Africa’s first online platform for booking, managing and paying for home cleaning. SweepSouth is a recognized leader in on-demand technology, and has created over 100,000 work opportunities for over 3,000 cleaners in under three years.

The company received funding from FNB’s Vumela Fund, The Smollan Group, and DJ Black Coffee. In 2016, Pandor graced the cover of Forbes Africa magazine, as part of a feature on inspiring millennials. She was awarded top female entrepreneur and top black entrepreneur at the 2016 PriceCheck eCommerce Awards. SweepSouth was recognized by the World Economic Forum Africa 2017 and was shortlisted as a finalist in the 2017 FNB Business Innovation Awards.

Peter Frolich

Managing Director Creovision & Director, Nesa Investment Holdings

Peter is a qualified electrical engineer from Wits University. He worked in the financial services sector for seven years as a senior analyst at Investment Solutions and as head of unitisation at Riscura.

He then joined Zenergy SA, a billing and energy management company as a senior manager where he was instrumental in implementing critical monitoring and billing processes. His interventions generated significant energy savings for various listed retail clients and private property funds, and it was during this time that he developed a deep passion and technical expertise for renewable energy.

In 2015 he founded Creovision, a specialist renewables engineering, procurement and construction (EPC) company focused on providing high-end rooftop solar solutions to the public. Frolich is a strong entrepreneur, and his attention to detail is essential to successful project implementation in a sector where accuracy and solution design are extremely important.

Gideon Potgieter

Entrepreneur in Residence, Resolution Circle

Potgieter began his career working at the SABC maintaining television studio equipment. He then joined Packard Bell, a multinational tech company, where he was responsible for setup and management of local technical support and later for local product development and assembly. In 1998, he moved to the Netherlands with Packard Bell and was responsible for technical support for EMEA.  He was part of the team that launched the business unit called Digital Home Entertainment, which created MP3 players, SatNav devices and external HDD’s.

In 2007, he became an independent business advisor, specializing in operational and customer excellence. He applied methodologies, philosophies and frameworks of ISO9001, Kaizen, total quality management, lean, and six sigma across various industries.

In 2012, he returned to South Africa to enter the renewable energy industry, focusing on bio energy. In 2014, he joined Resolution Circle, a company that specializes in product and technology development. Potgieter holds a Bachelors in Engineering from the University of Johannesburg and an Executive MBA from the Rotterdam School of Management.

Seola Mashamaite

Founder Montech Calibration Services

Seola Mashamaite is the founder of Montech Calibration Services. When she matriculated, Mashamaite applied to become a pilot but was unsuccessful. Not to be deterred, she pursued her next ambition, which was to study engineering. She secured loans for her studies and she obtained a diploma in chemical engineering.

Her career took off when she spotted a recruitment ad for a trainee metrologist and got the job and spent five years there until the company was liquidated. Having gained some experience in the calibration field, she saw the gap and started Montech Calibration Services, which was registered in 2014.

Now based at Riversands Incubation Hub, Mashamaite is steadily building her business undertaking calibration services for laboratory equipment. She recently came second in the 702 Hyundai Start-Up competition, which has given her a company a boost.

Vernon de Wet

Head of Business Development, Retail Capital

Vernon de Wet, Head of Business Development, at Retail Capital has over 20 years of senior management experience in business development across a range of industries including FMCG, transactional banking and custom software solutions. He is responsible for the business development team and relationship management with customers and key partners at Retail Capital. Over the past 18 months de Wet has worked closely with a number of South Africa’s largest franchise groups to structure deals which work for them and their franchisees.

Marang Marekimane

Managing Director, Business Process Mechanics

Marang Marekimane runs Business Process Mechanics a business consulting that assists entrepreneurs to build sustainable businesses and empowers them to buy back their time and sanity. As a public speaker, she facilitates discussions on change and growth strategies.

Prior to becoming an entrepreneur, she had an 11 year career as a project and process management consultant in the financial service industry. She serves on a number of business association advisory boards and is a partner to GirlCode, an IT program for girls.
